Toronto, October 26 2022 – Playmaker Capital Inc. (TSXV: PMKR) (“Playmaker”) announced today that The Nation Network (“TNN”) has added long-time NHL reporter, Brent Wallace (“Wallace”), and ex-NHL’er, Bobby Ryan (“Ryan”), to its deep lineup of hockey media talent. As part of joining TNN, Wallace and Ryan will launch Ottawa Senators focused video podcast series, Coming In Hot, and establish a net-new presence in the Ottawa market for TNN.
The addition of Coming In Hot with Wallace and Ryan reaffirms TNN’s commitment to building a daily show and podcast network that is present in every major Canadian hockey market. TNN recently added “Barn Burner” and “Leafs Morning Take” to its slate of daily hockey shows. Since the debut of Barn Burner with Dean “Boomer” Molberg, Ryan Pinder, and Rhett Warrener, the show has entered Apple Podcasts’ top-5 downloads ranking for the Canadian sports category.1
Wallace has been an NHL reporter for 25 years, including 23 years as the Ottawa Bureau reporter with TSN. Wallace has covered some of the biggest sports moments of the past two decades, including 13 Stanley Cup Finals. Ryan is a former NHL All Star and veteran, playing over 850 games with the Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, and Detroit Red Wings. Ryan accumulated 569 NHL points during his career and retired an Ottawa fan-favourite after winning the 2020 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to an NHL player that best exemplifies qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. Coming In Hot will leverage its hosts’ intimate knowledge of the NHL and Ottawa hockey culture to deliver expert analysis and amplify guests’ authentic personalities in an informative and entertaining format.
